Stephen A. Smith Gives His Verdict on Keke Palmer-Usher Controversy, Empathises With Scorned Partner’s Perspective
Stephen A. Smith is quite a well-known figure in the world of sports. A respected analyst, Smith has gained quite a reputation as one of the best. But, there are times when he shares his thoughts on things outside of sports as well, and recently he did just that. Using his personal platform, the Stephen A. Smith Show, the First Take analyst commented on the recent controversy surrounding actress Keke Palmer and her appearance at an Usher show. In particular, how her boyfriend reacted to the situation, and what he would have done.
There have been plenty of occasions where Stephen A. has used his show to voice his opinion on things other than sports. Usually, topics that aren’t really brought up that often on First Take. And, given the casual vibe surrounding his show, his expressions are far more animated. Making it all the more entertaining for his fans.
Stephen A. Smith delivers his verdict on the recent controversy surrounding Keke Palmer
Recently, actress Keke Palmer has faced scrutiny following her appearance at an Usher concert. Palmer’s revealing clothes were called into question, and received much backlash, particularly, from her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. This further escalated, leading to a back-and-forth online.
One person who has given his verdict recently is Stephen A. Smith. Known for his animated takes on sports, a statement on celebrity gossip is unusual for Smith. Nevertheless, he passed his assessment on his show.
Stephen A. made the case for both sides. He pointed out that he understood Jackson’s reaction. After all, if he were in a similar situation he would not approve. But, he also made it clear that he did not agree with the way things were handled. Specifically, how he decided to go public with his displeasure. In his opinion, while his feelings are understandable, Darius Jackson should have done better and handled this privately.
“There’s no other way to say this. Literally, not figuratively. Literally… she showed her ass! Now in the interest of full disclosure. Let me say this. If I were her man, ain’t no way I would approve of that. I would not have liked that one bit. That’s just me. Okay! So, her man feeling the way that he felt I understand. That man is entitled to his feelings. Now I disagree with him saying it publicly. He had no business doing that. You shouldn’t have said that to her for us to see. You should have waited till she got home and addressed with her privately.”
