‘Steph is too little to beat LaMelo Ball’: LaVar Ball believes his son can take down Warriors’ Stephen Curry 1 on 1
LaVar Ball believes his son LaMelo can take Stephen Curry on, 1v1, and win the contest with the Warriors superstar.
The mentor of the Ball Family, LaVar Ball is known for making bold and controversial statements. He once claimed that he could beat Michael Jordan in a 1v1, however, that all changed when his son LaMelo was drafted by MJ’s team Hornets.
LaVar has three sons who are all professional basketball players. The eldest is Lonzo, who plays for the Pelicans, the youngest is LaMelo who was drafted by the Hornets. LiAngelo was signed by the Pistons earlier, but they waived his contract yesterday.
LaVar Ball recently did an AMA with Bleacher Report, and some of his answers are worth taking a look at.
LaVar Ball believes LaMelo would win in a 1v1 against Stephen Curry
Ever since his High Scool days, LaMelo Ball is compared with Stephen Curry due to the similarities they share. They both play the one guard position and can shoot the ball from all parts of the court. In this AMA, LaVar was asked who would win in a 1v1, his son LaMelo or Steph Curry? LaVar seems to believe his son has the edge.

Even though the 19-year-old has the height advantage, standing at 6’8″, given him the advantage over Steph is a bit of an overstatement. Stephen Curry, even though he is 6’3″, is the most elite point guard in our league and is not afraid to go up against any opponent.
Maybe some time in the future LaMelo can beat Steph, when he garners enough experience, but till then, Steph would always have the upper hand in my eyes.
