Steph recently gave props to Jrue Holiday by calling him a top 4 ‘Curry defender’. The Bucks star paid back the compliment on JJ Redick’s podcast.

Curry and Holiday were both drafted in 2009. Steph was landed by the Golden State Warriors with the no. 7 pick, while Holiday went 17th. Holiday held the upper hand between the two at the start of their careers.
Jrue was making it to All-Star teams by his 4th season in the league. Curry should arguably also have made it with him that year, but he wasn’t voted in by coaches. While Jrue was a defensive ace with good offense, Curry has been a lights-out shooter.
Holiday was traded to the Pelicans, where he compiled 7 more great seasons before signing with Milwaukee this year. Now aged 30, Jrue is in the prime of his career and is expected to help the Bucks to the Finals.

Jrue Holiday calls Steph Curry an alien
Steph Curry produced the greatest 11-game shooting performance in league history through the month of April. The only unanimous MVP in league history shot 69 3-pointers through the last 10 games of that stretch.
Even in that stretch, there was a mind-boggling mini-stretch of the sort that only Curry can produce. He had 4 games with 10+ 3-pointers in 5 appearances – for reference, Klay Thompson is second all-time with 5 games of 10+ 3-pointers made, but FOR HIS ENTIRE CAREER.
Steph’s dominance of 3-point records is going to be even more insane than Wilt’s hold over rebounding and scoring records. Jrue Holiday alluded to the same while talking about how Steph is an entirely different breed to everyone else:
“He’s an alien. I fouled him on a half court shot. I’m pretty sure he didn’t even look at the rim, and he still almost made it. They didn’t call the foul.”
