In 2009, the Golden State Warriors selected perhaps the greatest player in the franchise’s history. Stephen Curry was selected with the 7th overall pick.

Hailing from Davidson University, Steph was a sharp shooting specialist. Something he developed as part of the Curry household under the tutelage of his father Dell.
However, basketball practice is just one of the many things that were specific to the Currys. Some of the other practices were a bit more embarrassing. Like how Steph’s parents would regularly vet all his dates. Yes, as embarrassing as it sounds, it’s true.
Stephen Curry had to introduce his parents to his date and her family before going out
High school is one of the best times in the lives of most young adults. Little to no responsibility, time to hang out with friends, and of course, for many, a time to pursue romance.
This was also the case for Stephen Curry. The four-time NBA Champion, for the most part, had the life of a normal American teenager. However, when it came to dating, things were a bit different.
In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Steph revealed that his parents used to vet his dates before he was allowed to take them out.
Steph once appeared in a Burger King ad with his dad
Sticking with Steph and his family. It’s hard to forget that Stephen Wardell Curry was actually famous even before he played his first NBA game. After all, he once starred in a Burger King ad alongside his father, Dell.

There can be no denying that Steph’s relationship with his family is special. Especially his relationship with his dad. Something he will hope to emulate and is emulating with his own kids.
The relics of his dating rituals from the Curry household, however, is something we hope he doesn’t carry on with his children.
