“That Bald Alcoholic Gave Up The Wrong Twin”: Michael Jordan Lit On Fire as NBA Fans Question Hornets Owner’s Intelligence Regarding Caleb Martin
It looks like Michael Jordan and the Charlotte Hornets let the wrong Martin twin walk in 2021. After Tyler Herro’s injury early in the playoffs, Caleb Martin has been balling out for Jimmy Butler and Co, as they are 3-0 up on the 2nd seed Celtics, in the Eastern Conference Finals. And Jordan, who has his own tequila company, is now being called an ‘alcoholic’ for his decisions as an owner for keeping Cody Martin and letting Caleb go.
It’s not the first time the GOAT of the game has been surrounded by questions about his front-office decisions. When he was the President of Basketball Operations with the Wizards at the turn of the century he didn’t do a great job there either.
NBA Twitter calls Michael Jordan a “bald alcoholic” for letting Caleb Martin walk
The Miami Heat are on the verge of making it to the NBA Finals, with one more game to win in their remaining 4 against the Celtics in the ECF. And they have a lot to thank Caleb Martin for showing up at the right time.
But it wouldn’t have been possible if the Hornets didn’t waive Caleb after the 2020-21 season. NBA Twitter hasn’t forgotten it yet and trolled MJ for it, calling him a “bald alcoholic”.

After a career year (2021-22), Caleb signed a team-friendly, 3-year, $20 million contract with the Heat at the beginning of this season. He’s proving to be their best value-for-money asset, as he has helped the team with six 15 points (or more) outings in their 14 Playoff games thus far.
He’s averaging 12.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in the postseason, which is fairly better than his regular season numbers. Also,
Meanwhile, Cody, who is on a much better, 4-year $30 million contract with the Hornets, averaged under 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game with the 14th seed of the East.
So, we can come to the conclusion that Jordan’s decision to sell the majority stake in the Hornets franchise is perhaps not bad from a business perspective.
The role players have stepped up for both 3–0 teams in the Playoffs
As both the Heat and the Nuggets are up 3-0 in their respective Conference Finals, we can see another similarity in their post-season success, it would be their role players.
From Max Struss to Gabe Vincent to Martin and other bench players in Miami, likewise, KCP, Aaron Gordon, and Bruce Brown in Denver, all of them have stepped up big time in stopping every opposition in the Playoffs from dominating their team.
They have been consistent in most of their team’s wins and quite crucial to their success this post-season. If and when these two teams collide in the Finals, the outcome will come down to which team’s secondary players perform better.
