“Ty Lue wants to Win a Championship Without LeBron James”: Kendrick Perkins Explains why the Clippers HC has a Chip on his Shoulder
During his playing days, Ty Lue was a pretty efficient role player. He was a part of the Los Angeles Lakers squad that won two straight championships. However, Lue is known more, for being one of the most successful coaches in the NBA.
Tyronn’s greatest achievement was winning the 2016 NBA championship as a rookie coach. Despite Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors leading the finals series 3-1, Lue led LeBron James and co. to put up the biggest upset in NBA Playoff history.
Unfortunately, Lue doesn’t receive enough credit and recognition for helping the Cavs clinch the title. And this is exactly why Kendrick Perkins believes that the Los Angeles Clippers head coach has a chip on his shoulder.

“Ty Lue is one of the, if not the best coaches in the league”: Kendrick Perkins
Kendrick Perkins, who played under Ty Lue for an extremely short stint, went on to laud the Clippers’ head coach on a recent episode of NBA Today. Apart from calling his former coach “one of the best coaches in the league”, Perks revealed why he believed that Ty had something left to prove. Kendrick said:
“He’s one of the best, if not the best coaches in the league. And you know the great thing about Ty Lue? He still has a chip on his shoulder. (Do) You know why he has a chip on his shoulder? Because when he did coach Cleveland and he won the championship with LeBron, (a)lot of people were saying ‘oh, you had LeBron’. Ty Lue wants to win a championship without LeBron to show how great he actually is.
Further, the ESPN analyst spoke about the LAC coach’s impressive coaching style.
When it comes to end-game adjustments, he’s one of the best in the business. You have a lotta coaches that have their pregame plan already planned out and stick to it throughout the course of the game. Not Ty Lue. He mixes it up and goes on the feel of the game.”

Can the Los Angeles Clippers win a title this season?
This Los Angeles Clippers team is one of the contenders for the championship when healthy. With the number of superstars on this roster, this is Ty Lue’s one shot at proving his haters wrong.
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George missing out on several games due to injuries, the Clippers have managed to stay afloat with a 13-10 record.
Sitting 5th in the stacked Western Conference, the LA-based franchise is definitely going to rise up the standings, once the team is healthy and in full power. And Lue will have a chance to put his mastery to use.
