Ja Morant has had his worst season in his NBA career so far. Not because his game fell off, no Ja had a great season on the court. But, it was his off-the-court behavior that made the 2022-2023 season one to forget. His gunslinging antics over the last year have raised many a concern. As things stand, he could lose a good chunk of his $33,500,000 salary for next season. And, with many people advising the Grizzlies star on how he should act, Damian Lillard, who appeared on the Last Stand podcast, has refused to give his two cents.

On two occasions now, Morant has been caught on camera waving what appears to be a firearm. He has received much backlash for the same, especially after the second video. One that came out following his first suspension. However, his camp has gone on to claim that it was actually a prop or a toy gun. But, regardless, his actions were reckless and immature.
Damian Lillard believes Ja Morant has received enough and more advice about his future
Damian Lillard is one of the biggest players in the NBA. With over 11 years of experience in the league, Dame Dolla has seen it all and done it all. And, one player who could use some advice from Dame right now is Ja Morant.
Morant has been in the headlines thanks to his numerous gun-related controversies. Ja has come under a lot of scrutiny, with it being likely that he will be suspended for a good chunk of the 2023-2024 season. This has led to many people offering the young superstar their counsel.
However, Lillard has refused to do the same. He claims that Ja already has a lot of people around him and more sharing their opinions, suggesting that any advice he could offer would be lost in translation. That being said, he does believe that Ja is in an unfortunate situation and he hopes that he can learn from it and grow.
“I would have a lot to say, but I’m not going to. You know I’m not going to sit here and say, “This is what I would tell him!”. Everybody and their mama got some advice for him. It’s just an unfortunate situation. A superstar athlete. A young man who’s just getting started, a major shoe deal, all these things! You just hope that he can learn from it and move on. Continue on the path that he’s been on.”
Dame seems to have the right idea. At this point, Morant has heard more than enough advice to last a lifetime. What he needs now is to make a change and have the right support around him.
Jaren Jackson Jr. supports his teammate Morant during this tough time
It’s been a tough few weeks for Ja Morant. But, while there has been a boatload of criticism for his actions, it has led to him receiving a lot of support. Jaren Jackson Jr., Ja’s Grizzlies teammate recently appeared on Podcast P with Paul George where he voiced his support for the young star.
Jaren made it clear that Ja, like any young person is making mistakes, and is now learning from them. And, as his teammate, he will support his “brother” through it all.
“I stand by my brother.”

Morant certainly has a good cast of players around him. A cast of players that will be there for him through thick and thin. Now, all he needs to do is learn from his mistakes and work toward a better future.
