Watch: 7ft 3" Victor Wembanyama Bullies Defender in Viral Clip

Victor Wembanyama might be the greatest draft prospect to come into the NBA since LeBron James, and at this point, it’s not even a debate. With San Antonio Spurs winning the draft lottery, it is almost certain what their choice would be. A 7-ft 3-inch power forward with handles like a point guard and a jump shot like a shooting guard is one of a kind. Recently, a video shared by Overtime has gone viral that shows the Frenchman displaying elite skills. At his size, they look even more startling.

At 19, Victor plays the power forward or center position for Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92, a professional team based out of France. A unicorn in its most literal sense, he has put the basketball world on notice before stepping foot on an NBA court. He will enter the league through the 2023 NBA draft scheduled for June 22nd, 2023.

Victor Wembanyama displays his ball-handling skills

Victor Wembanyama’s videos have gotten into a habit of going viral on social media. Anything the youngster does on the court seems to get the fans excited. Another such video has recently gone viral on social media. A 7-foot Wembanyama is seen dribbling between the legs like a point guard before taking a contested mid-range jumper resulting in an “and-1”. Here is the clip:

The video has thrilled basketball fans, and there has been an overflow of reactions since going live. A user posted a GIF of Giannis Antetokounmpo comparing him to Wemby. This foreshadows what’s to come as he develops in the league. The only difference is that Wemby has a lethal jump shot as well.

In another reaction, a user appreciated the attitude displayed by Victor, who got back on the opponent for scoring on him.

While yet another decided to grant him the best player status. He expressed his disbelief at what the young man can do at his height.

What Victor Wembanyama means for the Spurs?

A struggling San Antonio Spurs organization is looking to become relevant again after the retirement of its star player Tim Duncan. With the first pick in the 2023 NBA draft, the Spurs have the golden opportunity to draft the French sensation Victor Wembanyama. They will finally have a player whom they can build their roster around.

For Victor, it’s a lifetime opportunity to play under the mentorship of the NBA’s winningest coach, Gregg Popovich. He has helped develop players like David Robinson and Tim Duncan, who achieved great success in the league. The Spurs fanbase will have a new life pumped into them for the upcoming season, which cannot come sooner.
