WATCH: Joel Embiid Unintentionally ‘Stomps’ on Grant Williams’ Head, Gets Jaylen Brown’s Shoulder

The Philadelphia 76ers, after splitting the games in Boston, could not hold secure a win at home tonight. Hosting the Celtics for Game 3, Joel Embiid was presented with his MVP trophy in front of the home crowd before tip-off. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown spoiled the party for Embiid. However, that did not happen before a very scary moment between Joel and Grant Williams.

Ahead of Game 3, Joel was awarded his MVP trophy in front of the Philly home crowd. It was an emotional moment, with Embiid breaking down into tears.

He tried to channel the energy into Game 3. Embiid put up a big performance, scoring 30 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, and getting four blocks. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough as the Sixers fell short 114-102.

Joel Embiid ‘stomps’ on Grant Williams and Jaylen Brown

During the 4th quarter, with a little over 5 minutes left, the Sixers were looking to cut the 100-92 lead. Jaylen Brown tried getting the ball from Embiid, who in turn ended up losing his balance. Stumbling, Embiid unintentionally ended up stomping Grant Williams’ head, and also getting a foot on Brown’s shoulder.

Williams went on the bench, and there was blood that the medical staff had to take care of.

However, it looked like Grant was alright, as he checked back into the game. As soon as he came in, Embiid went on to check on him, and it looked like there was no bad blood between the two.

Thankfully Grant Williams is alright. Joel is a big man, weighing nearly 280 lbs. When he’s stumbling, his foot would have hit Williams’ head harder than imagined. It’s a miracle that everyone is alright.
