"We need a couple of these in a row": Despite beating LeBron James and the Lakers, Stephen Curry wants Warriors to build a win streak

Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry talks about the significance of securing a win over the defending champions

The Golden State Warriors managed to hold off the Los Angeles Lakers and secure a 115-113 win. The Dubs overcoming a 19 point deficit and managing to steal a game from the defending champions is nothing short of a Big Win for the fanbase.

Even on a night where his shooting wasn’t the best, Steph scored a game-high 26 points to carry the Dubs. There were quite a few impressive contributions by Kelly Oubre(23), Andrew Wiggins(18), and Eric Paschall(19). Draymond Green made some timely baskets and had the stop on LeBron’s game-winning 3 at the buzzer.

Stephen Curry explains what the win means to the Dubs

The match tonight felt like a lost cause, as the Lakers cruised to an early 34-22 lead after the first period. The Lakers, at one point, lead by 19 points and held a 17 point lead in the second half. With some impressive Steph like shots, Curry put the pedal on the gas in the 4th quarter, to lead the Dubs to a 115-112 lead.

After the match, Curry was talking to the press and was asked what this win means to the Warriors. It obviously was a big win, taking on the defending champs at their home, and to beat them there. Steph was happy about the win, but his reply shows he is all business.

With this win, the Warriors are one win over the .500 line. They moved up to the 7th spot in the West. Even after the loss to the Warriors, the Lakers are still the top team. They boast an 11-4 record, and surprisingly all 4 of their losses have come at home.

It should be fun to see whether the Warriors can carry their form, and get more wins on the upcoming 2 game homestand.
