“Work With An Idiot And They’ll Buy You Out”: Looking at Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley Uses Skip Bayless To Joke About Getting Out Of $200M Contract

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal had their respective vacations planned out after TNT’s coverage of the Eastern Conference Finals was over earlier this week. However, it had to wait as NBA TV wanted the duo to cover two more games– Games 1 and 2 of the Finals between the Nuggets and the Heat. Barkley took this opportunity to poke fun at Smith, Shaq, and FS1 duo Skip Bayless–Shannon Sharpe. All of them with a single joke. And also, mention his glitzy new $200 million contract with TNT.

At the beginning of the year, ‘The Round Mound of Rebounds’ was getting an offer from LIV Golf but chose to stay with TNT and signed a massive contract that keeps him with Turner Sports for the next 10 years. However, it looks like he is done with them already.

Who knows he might be actually looking for a change.

Charles Barkley might be looking for a buyout

After the Nuggets defeated the Heat in Game 1, it was time for some Charles Barkley-Shaquille O’Neal fun. Hilarious enough, Chuck was talking about how he read in a Bleacher Report article that “If you work with a damn idiot, they will buy you out.”

While the fans and the rest of the crew that also included Grant Hill would have thought it to be Shaq, he made it clear that it wasn’t on Shaq or Ernie, but Kenny Smith. However, it was surely a dig at Skip Bayless as FS1 recently bought out its veteran analyst and NFL Hall of Fame, Shannon Sharpe. Just watch it in the following clip by “cjzero’s” Twitter handle.

It is not the first time Chuck trolled Bayless

Sharpe and Skip’s beef started at the beginning of 2023. And they had frequent episodes of it in the next few UNDISPUTED episodes.

In an Inside the NBA episode around the same time, Chuck mocked the FS1 duo indirectly by calling out Shaq for interrupting Ernie.

This banter between the shows brings more life to the sport we so love, let’s hope it keeps coming.
