“You can conquer Giannis!”: Monty Williams’s timeout encouragement to Deandre Ayton is nothing less than inspirational
Clip of Monty Williams motivating Deandre Ayton from game 2 gives fans a sneak peek into the greatness of the Suns head coach
With their 118-108 victory in game 2, the Phoenix Suns now lead the series 2-0. Many have credited the likes of Devin Booker and Chris Paul for this success, and justifiable so. But, many often end up forgetting the brilliance of Deandre Ayton and head coach Monty Williams.
Ayton had a shaky start to this game. He was getting beat quite often on the defensive end, and things weren’t looking much better on offense as well. But as the match went on, the player grew into the game, eventually recording 10 points and 11 rebounds in this game.
A little clip was revealed containing Monty Williams and DA. What happened within the clip was when the player was at his lowest in the game. And well, what the head coach stands as massive proof of his greatness.
Let’s get into it.

Clip reveals Monty Williams’s incredible words of motivation to Deandre Ayton during game 2 of the NBA Finals
So far in the postseason, Deandre Ayton has been very impressive. He isn’t a star, but he has transformed into the ideal big man for a championship-caliber team.
In fact, he has played so well, that many sometimes forget that the guy is just 22-years-old and that he is allowed to have a bad game. Thankfully though, it seems Monty Williams never did.
When his young talented big-man was having trouble during the game, the coach knew exactly what to say. Take a look at the clip in the tweet below.
Monty Williams wired, talking to Ayton 1-on-1 during the timeout.
“One, [talks about scheme vs. Giannis]”

To be able to give such an inspirational speech in the middle of a timeout in on itself is amazing. But, the fact that Williams knew that the player needed to be motivated rather than criticized is brilliant too.
Ayton would go on to play much better with every passing minute, and eventually made a huge contribution to the team’s victory.
The Phoenix Suns really are an interesting team from top to bottom.
