New 'Group' Social Feature in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2; Everything You Need to Know

This Warzone 2 article will look at a new feature called ‘Groups,’ which will let players make a dedicated ‘Reddit-like’ chat room.

The launch of the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded updates are right around the corner. With it, many new features and content will keep fans satisfied until the following season. Some of that includes Shipment, a new map; Atomgrad, a new raid mission; agents like Gaz and Klaus; and more. Moreover, a new Socials feature called ‘Groups’ will bring a new community-like experience to the game for people with similar interests. Let us see how.

New Groups Feature in MW2 and Warzone 2: What will it do?

Firstly, this feature will release on December 14th when the Reloaded update goes live. Secondly, it will be incorporated in both MW2 and Warzone 2 since both have the same game engines. You can access the Groups section from the Socials Tab. Like Reddit, you can create a community catering to specific interests or find one. Below are some of the features ‘Groups’ will give the players.

  • Groups will have tags to determine group types catering to various game modes; DMZ, Battle Royale, or Multiplayer.
  • Tags will mention skill-specific groups such as Veteran Only or Beginner Friendly. These tags will help joiners identify if the players have similar interests or skill levels.
  • Out-of-game interest groups are also allowed. Tags like ‘Vibes’ and more can be used to let players know about interests like Gaming, Sports, Food, and Entertainment.
  • These Groups can have up to 5000 members each.
  • Streamer-specific groups can also be made, which can be managed by fans. It will require permission for players to join.
  • The group administrator can manage the privacy setting before or after the group is created.

All in all, this system will help the community get closer and keep the interests alive. It can also be a good place for the community to discuss new updates, guns, strategies, and more.
