Neymar to Barcelona: Brazilian star refuses to extend his contract with PSG which will end by 2022 amidst his desires to rejoin Barcelona.

Neymar is once again amidst the controversy with PSG as he has declined the offer of extending the contract with his current club PSG amid his desires to move back to his previous club Barcelona.

According to a report by the Sport, Neymar was offered to extend his contract till 2025, but the Brazilian International is aiming to move out from Les Parisiens’ camp.

The current contract of Neymar runs till 2022 and Neymar is the highest-earning player in the PSG squad. The French giants hired his services from Barcelona in a record-breaking fee in 2017.

Since then Neymar has managed to play in 63 games for PSG across all competitions and have amassed 55 goals and 29 assists. A brilliant number of stats but Neymar has been struggling fitness-wise or else he would have better statistics to his name.

On the other hand, even Barcelona is fancying the return of Barcelona but their recent recruitment of Antoine Griezmann would destabilize the finance books in the Nou Camp.

The Catalans were reportedly negotiating with PSG to gain the signing of Neymar in the last transfer window. However, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi blocked the move and made Neymar comply with his contract.

The Brazilian star had great years in Barcelona and formed a fierce alliance with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. Later, Neymar wanted to have a separate legacy, as the might of Messi and Suarez overshadowed his talent.

Thus, the 27-year-old star opted out his way from Barcelona. Although, Neymar has not levelled up his bar instead his career has taken a slight hit, his injuries have certainly prevented him to reach his previous levels. Thus, the Brazilian reportedly thinks he has better prospects at Barcelona.
