12 Years Before Leaving the Patriots, Tom Brady Gifted Over $200,000 Worth Audi SUVs to Each of His Starting Linemen

NFL legend Tom Brady always valued winning more Super Bowl titles, than securing hefty contracts. In fact, back in 2008 after having a terrific season in New England, as a token on appreciation, ‘team-man’ Tom had gifted each of his offensive linemen brand new Audi SUVs worth over $200,000.

Tom, who left New England in 2020 after guiding them to 6 Super Bowl titles over two decades, left an indelible mark on Patriots’ rich footballing history. In fact, to honor Brady, several ‘Thank you Tom’ billboards were put up all across the city by Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s family. It is not easy to sculpt this sort of legacy for any sportsperson but then again, Tom, and his ‘gifting Audi SUV-like’ gestures, made him different.

Tom Brady once gifted 5 Audi SUVs to his linemen

Around 12 years before he left the Patriots, Tom had decided to gift each of his starting offensive linemen an Audi Q7 SUV. As per Sports and Business enthusiast Joe Pompliano, back then, each of those SUVs burnt a $42,000-sized hole in Tom’s pocket. In total, Brady spent over $200,000 on the lavish gifts.

It was a promotional event for Best Buddies back in 2008, when Tom had decided to impress his linemen with brand new cars. As reported by Patsfans.com citing Boston Hearld, after giving the cars away to Dan Koppen, Stephen Neal, and Logan Mankins, the three linemen who were present at the event, Tom had stated, “These will keep you well-protected, just like you make me feel – sometimes.”

One has to admit that all of Patriots’ linemen thoroughly deserved these gifts. As they played a massive role in guiding New England to a fabulous 16-0 win-loss record during the 2007 regular season. Although they couldn’t get over the line against Eli Manning’s Giants in the Super Bowl, Patriots’ heroics during the 2007 season just can’t be ignored.

As one can expect, for his gestures, even Tom received a lot of love from his mates. During his last NFL season, TB12 had received a very special custom made cake, courtesy Running Back Leonard Fournette.

Tom Brady got a GOAT-cake from Leonard Fournette last year

The cake in question was both, a tribute to Tom’s incredible legacy, and a hilarious dig on his age. Fournette, for his legendary teammate’s 45th birthday last year, got a GOAT-theme cake with “Happy 100th Birthday” written alongside it. Moreover, sharing a picture of the cake, Leonard had written, “Happy early birthday my old head.”

As reported by ESPN, Fournette was a little skeptical about ordering the sugar-laden cake for Tom, given how particular the QB is with his TB12 diet routine. However, he went ahead and orderer it anyway and as expected, it ended up pleasing everyone in the facility. Given that Tom decided to call it quits after the 2022 season, the birthday cake and celebrations now hold a very special place in the heart of Brady’s teammates and admirers.
