As of now, it seems like Patrick Mahomes is the one leading the race by a mile. After a busy Thanksgiving, the odds board for the 2022 MVP award has become more competitive.
Patrick Mahomes is the league’s favorite going into December, but Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa aren’t far behind and as we all know, things can change quite quickly in this league.
MVP Odds 2022
As his outstanding campaign for the 9-2 Chiefs continues, Patrick Mahomes has surpassed all other MVP candidates for this season. Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts are competing for second place. Josh Allen, who was the preseason favorite, is now in fourth place.
Joe Burrow is the leader of a group of other elite quarterbacks who follow the big four favourites and could add intrigue to the race as it nears the finish line. Tyreek Hill, who is in the middle of an outstanding first season with the Dolphins, is in the lead for the other positions. Here is a look at the competition for the 2019 NFL MVP.
Current NFL MVP odds at @DKSportsbook:
Patrick Mahomes -160
Jalen Hurts +350
Tua Tagovailoa +500
Josh Allen, Joe Burrow 14-1
Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott 60-1— Ben Fawkes (@BFawkes22) November 28, 2022
If we run the scenario with exact numbers, then we have our top five. Patrick Mahomes leads the way with a -160, followed by Jalen Hurts with a +350. Tua Tagovailoa is currently in third place and racing with +500, which is very close to Hurts. Josh Allen is in fourth place with +1400. On the fifth, we have Joe Burrow with +1400.
It’s not tough to understand why Jalen’s NFL MVP odds fell to +350 after Monday night’s game. They have fluctuated between the +550 and +350 range for the last six weeks.
Tua hasn’t thrown a pick since week 4 and has completed more than 60% of his passes in each game since, so it’s a little too soon to write him off. Former teammate of Jalen Hurts has been outstanding for the Dolphins, and his accomplishments are all the more impressive when you take into account the concussion controversies earlier in the season.
