It is here! After waiting patiently for almost 4 months, the Chiefs finally have their hands on their much-awaited Super Bowl rings. In a ceremony held in Kansas City, the players and staff were presented with the mind-blowing, diamond-studded ring, which is bound to make the most ardent of jewelry fans jealous. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce seem to be loving them.

The Kansas City Chiefs won their 3rd ever Super Bowl last season when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. The last time they won the Vince Lombardi trophy was in 2019, though the celebrations were much more quieter given the pandemic. Now, the Chiefs are leaving no stone unturned in their attempt to make this the most memorable Super Bowl win for them.
Chiefs present players with a 16.10-carat ring loaded with diamonds
For the first time ever in history, the star of the party was not Travis Kelce. Instead, that title goes to the Super Bowl ring presented to the Chiefs’ players and staff. The rings came in a custom box emblazoned with the Chiefs’ logo and had a small screen on the inside that showed highlights from their season. However, that was by no means the best part.
The ring in itself is a beautiful masterpiece. Not just because it has some 628 diamonds of varying sizes. This ring also commemorated a lot many things that made the Chiefs who they are. Diamond-wise, the ring has 609 round diamonds, 16 baguette diamonds, 4 marquise diamonds, and 35 custom-cut genuine rubies.

There is a reason for all these diamonds, it seems. The 16 baguette diamonds represent the 16 players who scored a touchdown last season. The 38 diamonds lining the top represent the number of points scored against the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. The 50 diamonds in the team crest are for the 50-year anniversary of calling Arrowhead ‘home’. The top of the ring itself is shaped as a bird’s eye view off Geha field.
Speaking to NFL Total Access, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said, “What I’m most excited to see is their expression when they receive their new rings. Because the rings are absolutely spectacular. But it’s also a chance for us to properly celebrate our Super Bowl victory right. Three years ago when we won Super Bowl LIV, we didn’t have a chance to do this. We had a socially distanced ring ceremony at Arrowhead Stadium, which was special in its own right. But tonight’s going to be a huge party.”
The Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes will be looking to add another ring this year
The Kansas City Chiefs may have had a lavish ring-presenting ceremony. However, fans should not expect this to be their last. The Chiefs certainly don’t think so, and will be going pedal to the metal this season. Especially Mahomes, who now has a chance to inch one step closer to usurping Tom Brady as the GOAT.
One other player desperate to win the Super Bowl will be Travis Kelce. For no other reason than to get another chance at visiting the White House, and potentially sneaking a few words on the Presidential podium. Though, just like the NFL season ahead, his attempt will be a lot more difficult than he would imagine. Will the Chiefs successfully defend their title?
