"$5,000,000 in 25 Minutes": Tyreek Hill Left Shell Shocked Upon Learning Jorge Masvidal's Biggest UFC Payday

It is no secret that Tyreek Hill loves to rake in the moolah. In fact, he left the Kansas City Chiefs, and Patrick Mahomes, just because he was not getting paid enough. This is probably why when MMA fighter Jorge Masvidal revealed that he earned $5 million in about 25 minutes, Hill’s jaw hit the ground in amazement.

Masvidal recently announced he was retiring from professional fighting. He had an impressive career, competing in the welterweight and lightweight divisions. Masvidal had what many would term a lucrative career, earning millions over the years. However, his record payout from a fight is what got Tyreek Hill hypnotized in a recent meeting between the two.

Tyreek Hill is amazed by Masvidal’s earnings

Appearing on Hill’s ‘It Needed To Be Said’ podcast, Masvidal and Hill talked about the kind of lifestyle an MMA fighter has. The talk soon drifted to insurance, injuries, and how much money Masvidal makes from a fight. “From a fight, the most was around $5 million for one fight,” Masvidal said. “Not a bad night… 25 minutes.”

Does that includes the insurance? Asked Hill out of curiosity. “The UFC takes care of us to an extent with medicals. So if anything happens to you at the fight or in preparation for the fight we’re taken care of. Even after the fight, anything in the, gym we are taken care of,” replied Masvidal.

Masvidal then went on to talk about which fight he feels was the toughest in terms of training. Talking about his clash with Askren at UFC 239, he says, “The one that I broke the world record on, that was one of my most grueling training camps. I still remember to this day, because I had to deal with a style that’s very different than mine, someone that doesn’t want to do nothing with striking, just wrestle and grapple…he’s not gonna lose his breath. It was very demanding.”

Masvidal struggled early on in his career, which prompted many to write him off as a footnote. However, his rise has been meteoric, and now he retires with more money in the bank than a lot of ‘promising’ MMA fighters. The long-term Miami fan will now at least have the time to indulge in and enjoy watching Heats and Dolphins games in his retirement. That should stop Connor McGregor from beating up his favorite mascots.

Hill is amazed at Masvidal’s earnings after himself bagging $120 million deal

Making $5 million for a 25-minute fight may have amazed Tyreek Hill. However, he is himself getting an extraordinary deal at Miami. His $120 million contract with the Dolphins includes $72.2 million in guaranteed money. Though now, it seems he might be looking to finish his career with this contract itself.

It is certainly a few years away, but the thought in itself is not something fans will be happy about. Nevertheless, Hill is currently one of the most prominent weapons in the Dolphins’ squad who would have to do a lot of heavy lifting alongside star QB Tua Tagovailoa, in order to take his team to the playoffs.

Will the Tua-Tyreek partnership churn out positive results?
