Aaron Rodgers Mentions How He Helped the Jets By Practicing Without Crutches Despite 3 Weeks Into Achilles Tear

It was certainly surprising for every football fan to see Aaron Rodgers throw the ball once again without the support of his crutches in the Jets pregame warmups before their Eagles matchup. It was not just impressive to see the 39-year-old recovering so quickly from a gruesome injury but he also helped his team in a way that no one saw coming.

Aaron Rodgers came in as a guest on the ManningCast once again during the Monday Night Football matchup between the 49ers and the Vikings. In a discussion with hosts Peyton and Eli Manning, the Jets’ QB explained how despite being on the injury reserve list players like to make themselves helpful and for him, it was by throwing the ball in front of the fans just three weeks after his Achilles surgery.

How Aaron Rodgers Helped His Team By Practicing Early Without Crutches

Aaron Rodgers certainly made heads turn after showing the fans how quickly he is healing. By doing that he not only made the fans aware of his positive growth but also uplifted the hopes of the fans by displaying that there is still a chance for him to return by the season end.

“When you’re away from the team and you’re separated,” Rodgers said. “Being on the injury reserve list anything you could do to make it feel like kind of a part of it. Whether that’s zooming into a meeting or conversation for the game or little details. You know when you are against this coordinator and remember some of the things you liked. For me, it was just kind of getting back out there and messing around in pregame warmups. When you have to be able to walk out there without crutches and throw a ball around like this.”

With his brief but powerful throwing session before the Eagles matchup at MetLife Stadium, he not only made the fans believe in his process but also developed an added winning mindset in his teammates. “Just having a mindset,” the QB added. “… to hopefully come back at some point.” It was certainly a small yet thoughtful step taken by the veteran and it seems that a return is very much possible.

Rodgers Aims To Return For the Playoffs

It was certainly heartbreaking for the Jets fans to watch him go down at the start of the season. However, he is not yet done with his Super Bowl hype train for the franchise. After promising the fans to take them to the promised land for the entire offseason, he still aims to make a heroic return for the playoffs. That is if the Jets manage to clinch a spot with Zach Wilson.

As reported by NFL’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Rodgers certainly feels positive about his recovery. So much so that he could make a remarkable entrance into the league despite a season-ending Achilles injury. Rodgers seems to be responding well after his successful surgery and watching him throw was certainly an added motivation for the hungry fans.
