Buffalo Bills Singletary : Is Devin Singletary Related to Mike Singletary?

Devin Singletary is currently facing off against the Colts in Super Wild Card Weekend. However, does he have any relation to retired Mike Singletary?

Devin Singletary and Mike Singletary’s Relation

To answer the question simply, Devin and Mike Singletary are not related. Despite the fact that they have the same last name, there is no evidence of any familial relationship.

Mike Singletary used to coach NFL and high school teams and raised seven children with his wife Kim. His children’s names are Kristen, Matthew, Jill, Jackie, Brooke, Becky, John, and Matt.

In fact, out of his kids, only Matt has any experience playing football at the college level. Thus, it’s clear to see that two definitely aren’t related.

Further, Devin “Motor” Singletary is the son of Devonn Singletary Sr. and Sabrina Clark and he got the nickname “Motor” from his dad. His dad got the nickname after playing at Norfolk State.

Clearly, the current Bills running back has no relation to the old legend. Mike Singletary was mostly known from his 11 seasons with the Chicago Bears where he was called the “Heart of the Defense”. Singletary played linebacker between 1981 and 1992 and was part of the legendary 85′ Bears defense that won the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Devin Singletary is only in the second year of his young career and he’s become an integral part of the Bills offense. He’s regressed a little in his second season as he ran for less yards than his rookie season, but he did improve in the receiving game.
