“Carson Wentz…is really going to dictate just how far we go”: Colts Owner Jim Irsay Opens Up About Upcoming Season
Carson Wentz was traded to the Indianapolis Colts this past offseason after a disastrous season in 2020 as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Now as a Colt, Wentz has been gifted a second chance at revitalizing his once brilliant career. And Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay isn’t underselling the importance of that outcome.
Colts HC Frank Reich has been known to have a special bond with Carson Wentz. Wentz was the MVP favourite for 2/3rds of the 2017 season until he got injured. Wentz’s offensive coordinator at the time was Frank Reich. So if any team that can help Carson Wentz bring back his magic, it’s the Colts.

Jim Irsay thinks the team’s success depends on Carson Wentz
“Let’s be honest about the situation, how well Carson Wentz is going to do, I think that is really going to dictate just how far we go,” Irsay said. “That’s just reality. I’m not saying that as a headline. Now, he needs support. He needs people around him. We saw the Super Bowl and Mahomes with no tackles. He looked pedestrian. That’ll happen because you need support.
But, really, if Frank Reich can get Carson Wentz’s play to an extremely high level and we feel that he can, and Carson, unquestionably, has every single tool mentally, physically, emotionally to do that, then you’ve got something special. There’s no doubt about it. That’s what I know Colts fans will be looking to see, just how good can Carson Wentz get? That’s really the intriguing question that everyone has and only time will tell.”

Frank Reich took over the Reins for coaching the Indianapolis Colts in 2018 after winning Super Bowl LII. Reich has had a different QB in all 3 seasons as a Colt and has impressively made the Playoffs twice.
The Indianapolis Colts have a loaded roster and look primed to make a deep playoff run in 2021. Last season, the Colts went 11-5 and lost by only 3 points to the Buffalo Bills in the Wildcard round of the playoffs. The Colts look to be one of the best teams in the AFC once again in 2021.
Going back and watching #Colts QB Carson Wentz run Frank Reich’s offense in 2017, buy up all the Michael Pittman Jr. stock right now.

Carson Wentz possesses the talent and skill to threaten top-tier NFL defences, or at least he once did. He will be entering a loaded team in a great situation for 2021 and will hope to bring his form and performance back up to being a top-tier QB. It will be very interesting to see the Colts and Wentz in 2021.
