“Cole Beasley is like that!!!” Bills WR Stefon Diggs reveals both him and teammate Cole Beasley played injured in 2020 NFL playoffs.

Stefon Diggs erupted into being one of the best receivers in the League last year. Diggs and QB Josh Allen led the team to the AFC Championship game last season. But Diggs recently revealed they made it that far despite him being injured, and fellow WR Cole Beasley playing through broken bones.

Stefon Diggs came into his own in only his 1st season as a Buffalo Bills. QB Josh Allen took a major step forward as the Bills came 1 game short of making the Super Bowl. The Allen-Diggs connection terrorized defenses throughout the year, as Diggs caught 127 passes for 1,535 yards, both of which led the league.

Josh Allen was a top 5 QB in 2020. He threw for over 4,500 yards and 37 touchdowns and the Bills won the AFC East for the first time since 1995. Thus every receiver on the team had a great year, including one of the NFL’s best slot receivers, Cole Beasley.

What’s even more impressive is that the Bills made it that far despite having their 2 best receivers struggling through injury.

Stefon Diggs revealed that both he and Cole Beasley played through major injuries

In an Instagram post and subsequent tweet, Diggs said he tried to rely on his mental toughness to work past the injury and remain on the field in the playoffs. That included an AFC wild-card matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, an AFC divisional-round victory over the Baltimore Ravens, and an AFC title game loss at Kansas City.

Diggs caught for 311 yards in 3 games in the playoffs but caught for only 77 yards in the AFC championship game. His teammate Cole Beasley played through a partially broken fibula. But despite playing on one good leg, Beasley hauled in all seven of his targets in Buffalo’s 27-24 win over the Indianapolis Colts and seven of nine targets in the championship game loss to Kansas City for 88 yards.

Cole Beasley battled various injuries throughout the season. But still caught a career-high 82 receptions for 967 yards. But after recovering in the off-season, Diggs and Beasley could once again combine to be one of the best WR duos in the NFL.
