DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins’ Twitter has been blowing up since the NFL dropped its new Covid rules which essentially require vaccines for everyone.

The pandemic is still raging on the US, and with the NFL set to host games at full capacity next year, they want to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

While the NFL can’t control fans and external forces, they can control their teams and players. Therefore, they released a memo dictating what could happen if players don’t vaccinate themselves.

Last year, the NFL repeatedly had to reschedule games due to Covid outbreaks within teams, but this is something they won’t be doing this year. As a result, the team responsible for the Covid outbreak may have to forfeit the game entirely.

Several players have spoken out against this, especially DeAndre Hopkins who may even be mulling retirement due to the stringent rules.

DeAndre Hopkins Twitter Activity Shows To Be Strongly Against NFL Requiring Vaccines

First, there was the deleted Tweet from DeAndre Hopkins that showed how upset he was with the new guidelines the NFL laid out:

Following the deleted Tweet, Hopkins had one more Tweet expressing how he felt caged in and restricted by the NFL’s policy. The Tweet was only word, but that one word said all that it needed to:

Pressure to take the vaccine has been coming from all over the country, and the NFL is the latest organization to follow through on providing some incentive for taking it, albeit in a harsh and strict way.

One of Hopkins’ biggest qualms with the vaccine is the fact that it can cause serious health problems for people. This was something again apparent by his Twitter activity:

Several NFL players have spoken out against the policy, claiming it restricts their ability to choose what they want to do with their body. While Hopkins’ reasoning is valid, he also must realize that not taking the vaccine isn’t just something that will impact him alone, but everyone around him too.

The issue with the vaccine is a sensitive topic as people on both sides will argue strongly for their view points. Hopkins is just one of those people, expressing his discontent for the NFL basically requiring everyone to get vaccinated.
