Deshaun Watson’s ongoing battle over his sexual assault allegations took another serious step. Lawyer Tony Buzbee revealed on social media that he will be requesting a grand jury be empaneled to look over the evidence in the Deshaun Watson case.

Over the past week, Buzbee filed 7 lawsuits against Deshaun alleging inappropriate conduct and sexual assault. Buzbee also revealed in a news conference on Friday that he will be filing an additional 5 lawsuits against the Texan’s quarterback in the upcoming future. Buzbee also added that more than 10 other women have come forward with reports about similar sexual misconduct to his law firm.

This takes the total sexual harassment allegations against Deshaun Watson to 22.

Tony Buzbee will be submitting evidence against Deshaun Watson to the Police on Monday

“Per advice from a well known criminal defence attorney,” Buzbee said Saturday night on Instagram, “our team will be submitting affidavits and evidence from several women, who had experiences with Deshaun Watson, to the Houston Police Department and the Houston District Attorney, on Monday morning. We will request that a grand jury be empaneled to consider the evidence we provide.”

Now a district attorney will decide whether to approve Buzbee’s request. If granted, a grand jury will hold a witness testimonial closed to the public.  Upon which decide whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. If a trial is held and Deshaun is proven to be guilty, the Texans star quarterback and one of the faces of the league could be facing imprisonment.

Buzbee also revealed that a detective from the Houston Police Department has been in contact with his law firm and they will be providing him with information about the women who intend to sue Deshaun Watson.

NFL Spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the matter falls under the league’s personal conduct policy and is under review. The Texans also said in a statement that they would be in close contact with the NFL during its investigation. More news to come as the story develops
