“I Get Warnings Everyday”: Micah Parsons Has Been Warned to be Careful Around Dak Prescott During Practice
Dak Prescott, the superstar QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys, has had a long battle with injuries over the past few years. Therefore, the team wants to protect their main man at any cost, especially during practice. However, Cowboys’ outside linebacker Micah Parsons is making life incredibly tough for the quarterback during training sessions.
While teams do like to push hard during practice, the Cowboys want to make sure that Prescott stays injury free at all costs. That is why, they have warned Micah Parsons to be careful around the 30-year-old during practice sessions.
Micah Parsons Told To Tread Carefully Around Dak Prescott
Parsons talked about the warnings he has received from the Cowboys coaching staff about treading lightly when it comes to tackling Prescott. However, the linebacker also made it clear that despite these warnings he continues to push himself towards an extra yard in practice.
“I get warnings every day,” Parsons said per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “But you know, I’ve always been wanting to push towards that line.”

In spite of the warnings, Parsons almost put the cat among the pigeons by doing exactly what the management has advised him not to do. During an 11-on-11 training camp drill, Parsons had a heavy collision with Prescott while attempting a sack on the quarterback. The tackle made Prescott hit the floor and the concerned groans of those around the play became louder.

The Cowboys are determined to wrap their star quarterback with cotton wool ahead of the 2023/24 season especially due to his poor injury records over the past couple of seasons. Last season, Prescott missed as many as 5 games due to a thumb injury that he suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1. Thus, one can understand why the management wants to be careful with Dak Prescott leading up to the new season.
Micah Parsons’ Cryptic Tweet Following Cowboys’ Defeat Last Season Had Fans Question His Relationship With Dak Prescott
Micah and Prescott share an interesting relationship. While mostly they have spoken highly about each other, there was a time when fans thought that Parsons was taking a shot at Dak with his Tweet. However, Parsons later clarified that he wasn’t targeting Dak at all.
It all started after the Cowboys’ elimination from the divisional playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers last season. The Cowboys’ offense led by Dak failed to create an impact miserably with the game ending 19-12. Following the defeat, Parsons sent out a tweet in response to a video commenting on the quarterbacks who had qualified for the NFC and AFC Championship games.
Besides mahomes, every team in the final 4 Qb is on a rookie deal and surrounded by talent! Mhmm interesting take! https://t.co/Md1CxGq49e

“BesidesMahomes, every quarterback on the four teams that are in the playoffs is on a rookie contract and surrounded by talent! Interesting opinion!” Parsons wrote on his official Twitter handle.
Fans speculated that the Tweet was a veiled jibe aimed at his quarterback Prescott, who was on a four-year contract extension worth a whopping $160 million, that he signed in 2021. The theories were such, that Parsons had to come out with a follow-up Tweet from his end, to convince fans that it wasn’t aimed at Cowboys QB1.
“Listen, we’re not going to sit here like I’m talking about Dak. Shid when I get paid ima want a big contract too! Come on stop reaching!” Parsons wrote to justify his earlier tweet.
Listen we not gonna sit here like I’m talking about Dak 😂😂😂 Shid when I get paid ima want a big contract too ! Come on stop reaching ! 😂

Apart from this slight hiccup, the duo have not had any other major tiffs during their time together at the franchise so far. With the new season around, the Cowboys need to buckle up and give their franchise a strong shot at their Super Bowl aspirations.
