Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are sitting well at 11-3, and after beating down the Seahawks 24-10, Mahomes might have made a strong case for the MVP award.

The Chiefs are rolling again this year despite losing Tyreek Hill. They’re 2nd place in the AFC, and with a strong late push, they could end up back on top if the Bills slip up.
Kansas City has high Super Bowl aspirations. They were bounced in the AFC Championship game last year, and they’ll be hungry to make it back and further this year.
Mahomes is playing better than ever, leading the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns. The Chiefs quarterback is on fire right now, and come January time, he’ll be even more dangerous.

Patrick Mahomes is on an MVP trajectory
With the way Mahomes is playing, it’s hard not to give him the MVP award outright. He’s simply in a league of his own when it comes to the way he’s playing.
With his current path, Mahomes has an outside chance of hitting Peyton Manning’s record of 5,477 yards. Further, he leads the league in adjusted net yards per attempt (ANY/A) which considers his sacks and turnovers, and he also has the highest EPA+ over completion percentage over expected in the league.
His highlight reel is stunning to watch as well. Look at this play from today which had people clamoring for him to get the MVP award.

Mahomes’ case is also bolstered by the fact that Chiefs are doing so well. Despite Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and others playing well too, Mahomes has set himself apart. There’s nobody who can match his fire right now, and it might be some time till we see someone capable of producing the same kind of magic that he does on a consistent basis.
