Tampa Bay running back Rachaad White recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he opened up about his experiences playing alongside legendary quarterback Tom Brady. White highlighted the brilliance of Brady’s game and shared intriguing anecdotes that showcase the quarterback’s unparalleled understanding of the game.

Rashaad White Reveals Fascinating Tom Brady Story and Football IQ

During his appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Tampa Bay running back Rashaad White shared an intriguing tale about his former teammate, Tom Brady, which left football fans in awe. White marveled at Brady’s uncanny ability to manipulate the cadence, creating confusion for opposing defenses and displaying his unmatched football IQ.

White recalled how Brady could effortlessly switch up the cadence, leaving the defense guessing and ultimately gaining an advantage for his team. He said,

“I could easily switch up the Cadence, no matter what… we all on the same page… him just being able to switch up the Cadence and he’ll get the defense, like, you know, the safety is going to blow it up, so far, but him switching up the potatoes, he’ll see this, so he just switches protection. I mean I ain’t seen the quarterback do that.”

The young running back was astonished by Brady’s astute understanding of the game, noting that no other quarterback in the league possessed such foresight. He marveled at how Brady knew what was going to happen before it occurred, making him a step ahead of the defense.

He further elaborated on Brady’s ability to adjust and communicate with his teammates on the field, saying, “He’d be like, ‘Hey, easy, easy… Actually, we’re gonna mic out to here, like we’re gonna switch protection… They gonna send the cat, so ready,’ just things like that.”

According to White, even if Brady changed the cadence, opposing defenses were unable to decipher his intentions due to his pre-snap reads and quick decision-making.

Rashaad White Recounts the Time He Pissed Off Tom Brady

Rashaad White candidly shared an incident where he inadvertently upset Tom Brady during a game. White recounted, “It was one game, but it was like me and my guy Smitty Donovan Smith. It was like a collective unit and obviously we had a protection.” He further explained how the play unfolded, saying,

“The wheel linebacker locked up on a lot of scrimmage, so of course I knew I had to go to him. But my guy Smitty, he flashed out to the wheel like he was gonna pick him up, so then I went to his guy.”

Unfortunately, the situation didn’t go as planned, and White’s assignment ended up free, causing Brady to be initially upset. However, the running back acknowledged that they discussed the play on the sidelines, and Brady was understanding of the situation.

Despite the momentary frustration, it seems the rapport between Brady and White remained intact, showcasing the level of communication and camaraderie on the field.
