With just a week left to go before the big game, the window to buy Super Bowl tickets at a decent price is closing quickly. Being perhaps the most anticipated Super Bowl ever, it’s no wonder we’ve seen prices go through the roof.
If you’re one of the lucky fans sitting in the Raymond James Stadium next Sunday, you’ll be witness to a potentially legendary Tom Brady-Patrick Mahomes showdown.
Brady, considered the undisputed GOAT by most, will be looking for his 7th ring, while Mahomes, the new face of the league, will hope to defend the title he won last year. Almost a metaphorical “passing of the torch”, if you will.
In fact, it’ll be the first time that the 2 QBs in the Super Bowl won the championship in the previous 2 seasons (Brady won with the Pats in 2019).

However, this isn’t the main reason the ticket prices have skyrocketed. Due to Covid restrictions, there will only be 22,000 fans in Tampa. Out of that, 7,500 will be given to vaccinated healthcare workers.
Since these tickets can’t be resold, that effectively leaves only 14,500 tickets for the general public to buy. Applying the simple principles of supply and demand, it’s easy to see why prices have shot up.

How Much Do Super Bowl Tickets Cost and Where Can You Buy Them?
Before the reselling of tickets began, the official site listed packages at $6,750, $8,000, and $10,000. However now on the site you can find tickets from $5,800 for 3 tickets up to $19,125 for 2.
Apart from the official site, it is possible to get your hands on tickets from a reselling site like SeatGeek, StubHub, and NFL Ticket Exchange.
With the dynamically changing prices, it’s tough to pinpoint an exact average cost of a ticket but it’s safe to say it’s in the $7000-$10000 range.
Currently (as of February 1st) the most expensive ticket on SeatGeak is going for $397,000 while the cheapest is around $6,900. On StubHub, the prices are lower but still similar. $5,300 for the cheapest and $315,000 for the suite.
