“Two is Better Than One”: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Picks Seahawks Back-to-Back Super Bowls Over MVP Award
There’s a fine line between confidence and hubris, and for as much as they’ve earned the right to assert themselves, the Seattle Seahawks are now starting to dance along that line a bit. The hunger that initially drove them to become the reigning Super Bowl champions has been fed, and given the fact that this is the franchise’s first championship in over a decade, they are expected to be content with munching on this one for quite some time.
According to their star wide receiver, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, however, a newfound hunger for a second title has already begun to emerge. “We want to win it again,” the 24-year-old phenom stated during his recent interview with WFAA.
“‘Two is better than one,’ they say. So we’re just striving for that, and I’m just so proud of my team… Those guys deserve my best every single day. We feel like a weight is lifted off of our shoulders, and it’s just time to have fun, let it loose, and go win another one.”
The interview comes one week after the OSU product tweeted that “The goal is BACK 2 BACK,” suggesting that he’s just about had his fill of the spoils of victory. Typically, this would be easier said than done for just about any other team in the NFL, but it’s worth remembering that this isn’t the first instance in our lifetimes that they’ve set their sights on a consecutive pair of Lombardi trophies.
In fact, if it weren’t for Russell Wilson’s infamous goal-line interception against the New England Patriots at Super Bowl XLIX, then fans would likely be much more open to pondering whether or not this iteration of Seattle is capable of replicating the mini dynasty that the Legion of Boom would have helped to create in the 2010s.
Nevertheless, this still serves as an opportunity for the Seahawks to rewrite their own history. They’ve already managed to take that first step by avenging their predecessors, but they now have to complete the task that was initially set forth in 2014. Thankfully, they have appeared to have both the skills and the self-belief that is required to do so.
Oddsmakers and the overall betting public seem to be in agreement as well, as the Seahawks continue to be listed as the favorites to win next year’s Super Bowl despite the official odds having been out for nearly a full two weeks. So if you’re fancying their odds of striking twice, then you’d best take them while you still can, because they only figure to tighten as they get closer to and progress through the 2026 regular season.
