According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jon Robinson, the general manager of the Tennessee Titans, has been fired. Despite the fact that Tennessee currently leads the AFC South, Pelissero claimed that Titans ownership was dissatisfied with the direction the team’s roster was taking.

After spending three seasons as the Buccaneers’ director of player personnel, Robinson first joined the Titans in 2016. Four of the past five seasons have seen Tennessee reach the postseason, and the last two have seen them take home the AFC South title.

Derrick Henry, a running back, and Harold Landry, a safety, were selected in Robinson’s first round with the team. In 2019, he also acquired Ryan Tannehill, the team’s starting quarterback at the time, via trade. Tannehill finished fifth and sixth among quarterbacks in those two seasons.
Robinson’s shortcomings in more recent times, however, have been clear. With 2020 tackle Isaiah Wilson no longer playing football, 2021 cornerback Caleb Farley, and 2022 wide receiver Treylon Burks having spent a large portion of their early careers injured, the Titans’ last three first-round picks have a combined 21 games played.
A.J Brown could have been the reason behind Jon Robinson’s firing
The Titans decided to trade wide receiver A.J Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft. Since Brown has become one of the NFL’s top receivers and the Titans have had trouble moving the ball through the air, it would be fair to say that the trade turned out to be a disaster for Robinson.
All jokes aside. I know the AJ Brown trade was a bad one but I think there’s something more to this Jon Robinson firing.
Winning teams heading towards the Playoffs don’t just fired their GM. 🤔

Robinson’s job might have been lost as a result of this trade of AJ Brown, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “Titans head coach Mike Vrabel opposed trading AJ Brown. Jon Robinson nevertheless did it. Brown had 119 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday as his new team thrashed the Titans. Robinson is currently paying for it,” according to Smith.
Even worse, Brown absolutely destroyed the Titans in their most recent meeting on Sunday, which might actually have been the point which really pushed the franchise over the line and ultimately resulted in a drastic firing decision.
