The 2023 calendar year begins on Sunday when the New Orleans Saints travel to play the Philadelphia Eagles. They’ll enter the game with a 6-9 record and need to win to maintain their tenuous NFC South title hopes. For Philadelphia (13-2) to clinch the NFC East and top overall seed in the playoffs, they only need one victory in their final two games.

Last week, New Orleans triumphed over the Cleveland Browns on the road despite bad weather, and the absence of several injured players. New Orleans and Philadelphia both have serious injury concerns in a crucial game for both teams.
Both teams’ complete injury reports were made public recently. Marshon Lattimore, who has an abdominal injury, will be discussed. His broken ribs and lacerated kidney have taken a while to heal.
Marshon Lattimore’s Injury report
Marshon Lattimore (abdomen) is questionable for the Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lattimore, who has been out for nine games in a row, appears to be getting closer to returning to the field.
He was more active in practice session, according to Nick Underhill of New Orleans. He had played sparingly in the previous two games before being listed as a game-time scratch.

Except for Lattimore, the Saints and Eagles injury report looks like this. Olave has been limited for the Saints all week, so he’ll be a game-time decision. If Olave is ruled out for the second time in a row, the Saints will turn to Rashid Shaheed, Tre’Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway, and Kirk Merritt at wide receiver.
Lattimore has also been limited in practice all week, making him a player to keep an eye on on Sunday. Hurts will be a game-time decision for the Eagles after being limited in practice on Friday. The news that Hurts is questionable for Sunday is discouraging, but the Eagles can ride with Gardner Minshew for the second week in a row.
Last week, despite the absence of injured starters like WR Chris Olave, guards Cesar Ruiz and Andrus Peat, and LB Pete Werner in Cleveland, the Saints prevailed. Since then, Ruiz and WR Jarvis Landry have both been put on injured reserve.
