Nikki Bella WWE: I had no choice but to retire. Former WWE Superstar opens up on her retirement on the Tonight show.
Nikki and Brie Bella appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday. The twins discussed their WWE careers with the host and explained why they have been away from the squared circle for a long time.

The sisters revealed that Brie Bella decided to retire after giving birth to her 2-year-old daughter Birdie. Her last match was a 6-women tag match where she teamed up with her sister and Ronda Rousey to face The Riott Squad. Brie and Nikki turned on Ronda after the match and attacked her.

Nikki Bella would go on to face Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship in the main event of the first ever all women’s pay–per–view, WWE Evolution. She came short however despite several interferences from her sister. Her loss at Evolution proved to be her last match as she followed in her sister’s footsteps and announced her retirement too.
Speaking to Jimmy Falon, the former Divas champion said:
“I’ve always had my neck issues and after neck surgery, like it hasn’t been okay,”
She revealed that the doctors discovered a cyst on her brain. Following which, she herniated the disc where the surgery was performed.
“So, they were like ‘You’re done. No more, you’re out. I didn’t get a choice.”

She told Fallon that she did want to make a comeback and have a go at the Women’s tag titles but her body just wouldn’t cooperate.
“I really wanted to go back and fight for the tag titles,” Nikki said.
Nikki Bella made her debut on SmackDown in November 2008. She is a two-time WWE Divas Champion; one of which holds the record for the longest Divas Championship reign. she announced her retirement on the March 24, 2019 episode of Total Bellas.
