Fact Check: Did Brie Bella Really Threaten to Kill John Cena after His Painful Break Up with Her Sister Nikki Bella?

The separation of WWE’s former power couple, John Cena and Nikki Bella, left the WWE Universe shattered. John and Nikki, unmistakably, had unparalleled chemistry in WWE. Nikki Bella said yes to a fairytale-like marriage proposal from John Cena in front of 70,000 fans at WrestleMania 33. Sadly, things took a bitter turn in 2018 when the couple decided to split. Their painful breakup led to the rumor that Brie Bella wanted to kill John Cena. 

John and Nikki went their separate ways after a 6-year-long relationship. The couple’s public breakup was due to their differing mindset about marriage and having babies.

This caused them to call off their marriage just weeks before the date. Nikki Bella publicly admitted that the split was a traumatizing experience. And her sister Brie experienced every bit of Nikki’s pain vicariously. 

Did Brie Bella really threaten to kill John Cena after his split with Nikki Bella?

After the breakup, Nikki Bella was undeniably crestfallen. It’s safe to bet that Brie Bella would have witnessed Nikki’s breakdown in close quarters. People’s magazine quoted a source saying-  

“On one level, Brie wants to kill [John], sure. No one should be allowed to hurt her sister like this.”

The statement raised a lot of eyebrows. But Brie Bella took to Instagram and dispelled the rumor. In her Instagram story, Bella claimed that she would never say such things about John Cena. She also added that she loves John Cena like a brother, citing that they would always remain family no matter what. 

“I’ll always love @johncena like a brother. He’ll always be family. My heart is hurting for he and my sister.” 

John Cena and The Bella Twins gave their fans good memories on WWE’s reality TV show, Total Divas. One of the most memorable episodes featured John Cena and Daniel Bryan (Brie’s husband) teaming up against the Bellas in a wood-chopping contest. 

Nikki and Brie are no longer known as the Bella Twins

Earlier in March, Nikki and Brie rechristened their twin magic to the Garcia Twins. This came a few months after The Bella Twins’ public discontentment with WWE for under-representing the Woman’s division on Raw XXX.

The WWE Hall of Famers took to their social media to express their excitement over starting a new chapter. The Garcias’ lives go beyond wrestling. Aside from having an impressive wrestling resume, the Garcias own several businesses.

Their ventures include two wine labels, Bonita Wine and Belle Radici. Furthermore, Brie and Nikki run the women’s apparel brand, Birdbee, and also own a women’s beauty product brand, Nicole+Brizee.
