Novak Djokovic and Hugh Jackman

‘Wolverine’ Hugh Jackman was feeling a little confident when he took to Twitter to challenge Novak Djokovic to a game of tennis. Despite having no background in Tennis, calling him out on Twitter, Jackman wrote: “Tennis anyone? And by anyone – I mean you Novak Djokovic.”

Jackman also posted a photo of himself with open arms and smile on the court.

And probably a little surprised when the world No. 2 accepted his offer, telling him he’d be happy to take him on. As without skipping a beat, the Serbian replied: “Ready to fly over to Monaco for a game or two? But you cannot use your claws on the court… or can you?”

However, as with everything on social media, there was a catch, which came in the form of a condition, proposed by the Serbian. The Tweet itself clearly reflects confusion on Djokovic’s part as to whether sharp claws will provide Jackman with an advantage. Or whether Jackman actually is Wolverine and has sharp claws…!

Here, we should note one amazing thing,

Novak continues to prove that he is as humble as he is brilliant as he responded to a challenge of a tennis match with none other than X-Men star Hugh Jackman.

Now it might sound like a weird mismatch, but the Hollywood actor took to Twitter to ask the world number two if he wanted a game. That’s why the tweet created quite a stir with around 2,000 re-tweets, over 13,000 likes, and numerous responses, including the man himself – Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic just continues to prove he is tennis’ ‘Mr Nice Guy’ and has humility despite fame.

Now, let me remind you of something. At the 2014 French Open, Djokovic’s match was halted due to rain and instead of letting the ball boy get soaked whilst he held an umbrella for him, the tennis star invited the youngster to sit down beside him and have a drink, whilst offering him his tennis racket in exchange for the umbrella. This simple act garnered immense respect for the Serb from the crowd and fans around the world and showed us that big stars can also be grounded.

The Serbian star has once again proven that he is willing to get involved in the fun side of the sport while staying competitive on court.

So we are expecting – ‘ Game, Set & Scratch!’
