The last match between Pakistan and Afghanistan was played during the Asia Cup held last year at Abu Dhabi. In what was only the second match of the tournament, Pakistan ended up winning it by 3 wickets with only three balls to spare.

After Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan won the toss and chose to bat, his team had scored 257/6 in 50 overs on the back of half-centuries from Hashmatullah Shahidi (97) and Afghan (67*).

For Pakistan, other than half-centuries from Imam-ul-Haq (80) and Babar Azam (66), it was veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik’s 43-ball 51* which aided them to seal the chase.
