Pep Guardiola: Manchester City boss backs Ernesto Valverde for his managerial role at Barcelona

Pep Guardiola: Manchester City boss supports Ernesto Valverde amid speculations of sacking after Barcelona failed to win the Champions league.

Barcelona fans were disappointed, when the Catalan giants were knocked out by Liverpool in the semi-final of the Champions league, even though they had a significant advantage of 3-0 after the first leg.

Things got worse when Barcelona were defeated by Valencia by 2-1 in the final of the Copa Del Rey. Although, Barcelona did win La Liga, but the club fans are not satisfied, as they demanded more than a league victory.

A storm was created online, as the Blaugrana fans called for the sacking of Valverde. The move was considered by the Barcelona board  but was vetoed by the club president Josep Maria Bartomeu. Further, several senior players including Lionel Messi supported the Barcelona coach.

In further advancements, according to a report by Marca, Pep Guardiola, who brought a revolutionary transformation in Barcelona, a decade ago has supported the current manager Ernesto Valverde as he stated that the Barcelona boss did a great job this season.

Away from the great friendship that we have, Ernesto is spectacular,” the Manchester City coach said at the basketball match between Manresa and Real Madrid on Sunday.

“He’s done a very good job. Sure he lost the Champions League, we all did. [He’s in charge of] a team that has won two leagues in a row and plays good football, I’m happy that he’s staying.

“Barcelona continue being loyal to his style. Barcelona and Liverpoolare very good teams, Liverpool are champions of Europe, they’re very strong. When the standard is so high, if one team has a bad game, that’s when you lose.” he further said.

Presently, Valverde has no danger towards his job and would be planning to bring back Barcelona at the highest European stage once again.
