PSG is confident that Neymar will remain in Paris for another year

Look away Real Madrid fans. Or at least do not read the latest statement made by Paris-Saint Germain’s chairman, Nasser Al-Khelafi. Amid heavy speculations linking Neymar back to La Liga with Real Madrid, Al-Khelai has vowed that Neymar will be staying at PSG next season.

Following the 4-0 win over Montpellier in which Neymar scored a brace, the PSG chairman said that Neymar will 2000 percent be staying at Paris-Saint Germain.

Al-Khelaifi told l’Equipe: ‘When I listen to the rumors, I smile because it is not true.

‘We have Neymar, he is very happy here, he is happy to score. We signed five years here. It’s been four months. I do not think he wants to leave.

‘He is a fantastic player. There is a link between him and the fans. The link with Real? It makes me laugh when I listen to that. These are rumors. You ask me to answer rumors.

‘All is well, we have a very big game against Real Madrid. It’s important to focus on this game and not listen to the rumors. We do not want to enter the game of the Spanish press. Will he be there 100 per cent next season? Not 100 per cent, at 2000 per cent.’

Al-Khelafi added that the speculation could be a result of the Spanish media in an attempt to destabilize the PSG board and players ahead of their crucial last-16 double header against Real Madrid in the Champions League this season.

The match marked a special occasion Edinson Cavani as the Uruguayan surpassed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to become Paris-Saint Germain’s all time leading goal-scorer with his 157th goal for the club.

Media speculations are astray claiming Neymar’s unhappiness in the French capital. Real Madrid are favorites to sign him this summer with recent interest coming in from Manchester City as well.

But at the same time, no one can imagine Neymar staying at PSG for the foreseeable future. The Brazilian icon is one the biggest brands in the world, and will definitely look to make a mega move to one of the premier institutions in world football.

Now that Barcelona is already done, Real Madrid or maybe even Manchester United could be Neymar’s next destination.
