Randy Orton: The Viper will be looking to close the lid on a 10-year long match in the making at SummerSlam next month.
Randy Orton has been sparingly used since his brutal encounters with Jeff Hardy last year. The Viper has featured on WWE SmackDown but has not been a part of a major storyline since. All that seems to have change now. Orton looks to be headed towards WWE SummerSlam with possibly the best storyline one can ask for.

Often the best stories are those that find their roots in reality. The storyline WWE has given Randy is no different. The 13-time WWE champion will be looking to add another title reign to his resume when he takes on Kofi Kingston at SummerSlam next month.

Interestingly, it was not Orton but the WWE champion Kofi Kingston who issued the challenge. Kingston called Randy out so he could talk to him face to face. That’s exactly what Orton did before Kofi cut a scathing promo that accused Orton of using his influence to climb up the ladder while kicking Kofi down.
Kofi Kingston Vs Randy Orton- Then and Now
Kingston mentioned their feud from 2009. He claimed that a feud that should have seen him burst into the main-event scene turned out to be his downfall instead because Randy wanted otherwise. As is in WWE, Orton waited for Kingston to say his part before bone chillingly saying ‘”You think I used my influence to hold you back? Damn right I did.”
Orton confessed to never liking Kingston and saying he didn’t have to “fake a Jamaican accent” or throw pancakes to get ahead. He also took credit for Kofi’s run as champion saying if he hadn’t injured Ali, Kofi would not be where he was right now. Kingston then laid out a challenge to Randy Orton and the Viper accepted it.

The WWE universe will now finally get to see the culmination of a feud, 10 years in the making. If WWE play their cards right, this could be the match fans invest in the most. Knowing WWE however, expect a lot of arrests, suspensions and fake injury angles. Throw in one or two members of the McMahon family even for good measure.
SummerSlam will take place on August 11, 2019 at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
