Ravindra Jadeja on MS Dhoni

Everything evens out in cricket at the end. The same Ravi Jadeja who was brutally trolled in the last match and his spot in the side was under danger, came up with a stellar bowling performance to bag the Man of the Match award against RCB.

The Pune with was on the slower side. As a result, the ball was gripping on the surface which made scoring tough for the RCB batsmen.

Jadeja was brought in to bowl by Dhoni as soon as the Powerplay got over and boy did he deliver. On the very first delivery, he clinched the all-important wicket of RCB skipper Virat Kohli.

The ball was a full one on the off stump. Kohli failed to judge it and hung back on the back foot. The ball went along with the arm and knocked back Kohli’s stumps.

Jaddu also dismissed Parthiv Patel and Mandeep singh to end with figures of 4-18-3. When he was presented with the Man of the Match award, Jadeja tried to speak his mind.

“It’s good to get MoM awards in a T20 game. Very happy with the way I bowled today. The wicket was a bit dry, the ball was holding a bit, I was looking to bowl in the right areas and not give them width. Bhajji also bowled very well, together, we tried not to give them too many runs. Overall, I am very happy, I finally took a few wickets, looking to do better and better in the coming games.”

Earlier Jadeja had to bear the brunt on social media after he did not seem to react after dismissing Kohli.

Clarifying his frame of mind at that moment, Jadeja said, “It was my first ball and I was not ready to celebrate. Virat’s wicket is always a huge wicket, I was thinking I got a good wicket,”
