Real Madrid have decided to stick with Santiago Solari until a calamity occurs in the season.

Real Madrid have decided that the future of Santiago Solari, opting to stick with him until the end of the season, thereby putting Jose Mourinho rumours to bed.

There were several rumours that the Portuguese International would be welcomed back to Santiago Bernabeu following an inconsistent start under Santiago Solari, but he will be the man in charge unless a “bloodbath” occurs this season.

Following a horrendous start to the campaign, Manchester United showed the exit door for Jose Mourinho who has apparently turned down a job offer from the Portuguese outfit SL Benfica recently.

There is no doubt that there is plenty of quality available at stake at Real Madrid, but somehow their team is struggling to find it’s feet. A managerial change and a couple of reinforcements in the summer will change the fortunes for the Los Blancos.

Real Madrid kicked off their first game of 2019 with a 2-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the La Liga at Santiago Bernabeu. They will be hoping for a change of fortune as they sit fifth in the La Liga and will play in-form Ajax in the Champions League Round of 16.

The 3-0 loss to CSKA Moscow is the lowest point of Santiago Solari’s reign, despite securing a spot in the knockout stages. It has been a struggle, but there is still plenty to play as they are in the hunt for the Champions League and Copa Del Rey.

In the list of most valued football teams, Real Madrid have jumped to the second spot by overcoming Barcelona.

In the recent weeks, the club has been linked with a potential move for Mauro Icardi and Christian Eriksen as they seek to strengthen the team for the next season.

Santiago Solari whose team will be up against Leganes in the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday spoke that his team will be precautious about the quality of the opponent other than underestimating them.

“We have to pay more attention in the opening minutes, it’s something we all know we have to improve on.

“Leganes are a very solid, competitive team so we’ll have to be aware of their speed when they counterattack us, and we’ll have to make sure we take our chances in attack.

“The Copa del Rey is a fantastic trophy and we’ll approach this game with the same excitement as we do every competition. We try and put all our energies into every competition, each one has its own characteristics.”

New signing Brahim Diaz is expected to make his Real Madrid debut in the Copa Del Rey today.
