Dhoni & Gambhir to contest Lok Sabha elections for BJP

Dhoni & Gambhir to contest Lok Sabha elections for BJP: If reports are to be believed, Dhoni and Gambhir will start a new innings.

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) may have already hit one out of the park with latest rumour coming out that the ruling party in in talks with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

A well placed source has said that Gambhir is likely to replace Meenakshi Sinha from the New Delhi constituency, given that the former belongs to the Rajinder Nagar locality in New Delhi.

A senior BJP leader earlier told The Sunday Guardian that the ground reports coming in for Meenakshi Lekhi were not good and that the people were not happy with her work. He also suggested that Gautam Gambhir  who has been recently known for his social work in most likelihood will be party’s candidate from the same seat.

On the other hand, many senior BJP leaders also confirmed that the former Indian captain MS Dhoni has also been contacted for BJP’s Jharkhand seat. Given that the CSK skipper is the face of Jharkhand, you never know if this might finalise in the times to come.

The senior members from the party made it clear that since both these players have wide acceptability and that cricket is a religion in our country, the party will do everything in their hand to make sure that they represent them in the upcoming 2019 polls.

The Indian cricket fans remember both for their antics on the 2nd April 2011 in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai when they took India across the line in the ICC World Cup final. With the biggest elections in the history of Indian democracy about to come and the rumours beginning to spread all around, how likely will it be to see them change the fate in politics.
