Rishabh Pant had a horrible match against West Indies

The 19 year old Rishabh Pant, who through his mesmerizing performances in the IPL and the U-19 World Cup got a call up for the recently concluded India’s tour of West Indies.

The tour consisted of a five match ODI series and a one-off T20 match.

Pant was named on the substitutes bench for the ODI series versus the Windies, which concluded in India’s favour.

Occasionally, he was seen on the field as a substitute for other players.

He finally got his chance to prove his worth as he was given an opportunity in the playing XI for the One-Off T20I match.

Unfortunately, Pant and Team India had a bad day as the West Indies won the match in an emphatic fashion.

Pant, failed to grab the golden opportunity as he was just able to score 38 runs off 35 balls which included 2 fours and a six at a strike rate of 108.57 .

To make it much worse for him, the runs scored by him in this game was the joint 2nd fewest by an Indian in a T20I innings after playing 35 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja’s 25 runs vs England in 2009 WT20 is the fewest runs to be scored by an Indian in a T20I innings having faced 35 and more balls.

This loss is bound to send Team India and Rishabh Pant back to the drawing board to re-strategize their tactics and techniques for the upcoming matches.
