Roberto Firmino Goal Vs Argentina: Watch Roberto Firmino extend Brazil's lead in second half

Brazil extended their lead through their striker Roberto Firmino in the 71st minute. Gabriel Jesus broke through the counter-attack to set up an easy tap-in for Selecao’s number 20 Roberto Firmino.

During the first half, Dani Alves managed to evade a challenge from three defenders to find Roberto Firmino. The Liverpool forward did not care to take a touch, but found Gabriel Jesus inside the penalty box. The Manchester City forward tucked the ball from close range.

Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero hit the crossbar before Brazil extended their lead to put the game beyond Argentina’s eyesight. At the other side, Philippe Coutinho had an excellent chance, but the midfielder failed to convert in the early stages of the second half.

When Gabriel Jesus had plenty of acres in front of himself to exploit, Brazil’s number 9 did that with a plum. He ran from the middle of the pitch and past two players to set up Roberto Firmino. The Liverpool striker had a simple job to tap the ball in from close range to pile even more misery on Lionel Messi and Co.

It was not an excellent run from Jesus, which unlocked Argentina’s defence, who were not able to contain Selecao’s number 9.
