Rohit Sharma's splendid four mesmerizes Graeme Smith in 3rd test match against South Africa

Rohit Sharma’s splendid strike for four runs mesmerizes Graeme Smith on the 1st day of the 3rd Test match against South Africa in Ranchi.

India is playing against South Africa in the 3rd Test match. The men under Virat Kohli have already sealed the title after they won against the Proteas in the 2nd Test match in Pune.

Rohit Sharma is in great form and has been promoted at the top order in the test side in the batting order. After his great innings on the second day, Rohit is the first Indian opener to score three centuries in a Test series.

Thus, it shows that how impactful the Indian batsman has been ever since he got elevated in the order. Amidst all this, Rohit made a graceful cover drive in the 36th over that went for a four and it left Graeme Smith impressed.

The ex-Proteas captain appreciated the shot even though his side was at the receiving end. When he saw the shot the first word came out of Smith’s mouth was “Magic”.

It was probably the shot of the day by the Indian batsman, as he stays on the back-foot but punches the ball on the cover to make South Africa look helpless in the process.

The first day ended after the 58th over, but bad light and rain can be accused of spoiling the show. However, India has managed to score 224 runs while losing 3 wickets, it was a good partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit which stabilized India’s innings, which could have been spoiled after India lost 3 wickets early in the game including skipper Virat Kohli’s.

Now, the match will be resumed tomorrow where India will continue its inning and would aim to go beyond 400. Presently, Rohit is at 117 and not out. It is remained to see for how long the vice-captain for India in limited-overs stay at the pitch.
