Ronda Rousey has signed a full-time deal with WWE
Wow!
One of the biggest attractions in UFC history, Ronda Rousey has made her long awaited debut in WWE, as she gate crashed last night’s Royal Rumble pay per view in Philadelphia.
The first-ever women’s Royal Rumble was the main event for the PPV, and the match did not disappoint. Asuka eventually won the match by besting the Nikki Bella, as the WWE Universe erupted in joy.
In what was a very fun match to watch, women wrestlers from past and present took part in the historic event, much to the delight of the sold out Philly crowd.
The likes of Lita, Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Vickie Guerrero and Trish Stratus returned to huge ovations as Stephanie McMahon, who was commentating on ring side, could barely control her emotions.
The likes of Molly Holly, Beth Phoenix and Jacqueline also made a mark, as this match almost served as a tribute to every female wrestler that worked for the company.
Eventually it came down to Asuka, Sasha Banks and the Bella twins, to determine who would be the first ever women’s Royal Rumble winner.
Asuka finally got the better of Nikki, as the unbeaten star earned herself a title match at Wrestlemania. Just as Asuka was about to make her decision, the WWE Universe erupted as Ronda Rousey made her way into the ring.
The legendary UFC fighter famously made a cameo at Wrestlemania 33, when she and the Rock confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. After leaving the octagon, Rouse had her eyes set on the WWE, as her main stream appeal would definitely be a huge asset to the company.
There were many rumours that she would actually take part in the Royal Rumble, as many fans were disappointed to not see her come out in the actual match. But Rousey made her grand entrance after the Rumble, and pointed at the big Wrestlemania logo.
Now we also learn that Ronda will be given a contract similar to Brock Lesnar’s, which makes her a long term fixture in the company.
This was a game changing moment, as Rousey put the entire locker room on notice last night. With Styles-Nakamura set and Lesnar surely to face Reigns at Mania, Ronda Rousey’s presence will only increase the star power on what is surely going to be a sensational Wrestlemania.
