Sentinels Valorant Fire Head Coach SykkoNT after Loss to Leviatan: Kaplan to Replace Him!

It will be an understatement to say that Sentinels Valorant is not having a good year. They have a 12-loss streak on the Split map. In addition, they have lost the last two matches against Leviatan and NRG respectively. In addition, they barely won against 100T in their first match. However, this was the last nail in the coffin as the organization’s CEO Rob Moore announced today that they will be getting rid of Head Coach SykkoNT after the last match. Let us break down everything we need to know.

SykkoNT to be Replaced by Kaplan as The Sentinels Valorant Head Coach

SykkoNT was a huge part of Xset’success last year. After Zekken and Deph’s transfer to Sentinels, Sykko moved to Sentinels as the head coach. Xset was then disbanded as Ayrin moved to Global Esports while BcJ moved to EJ and Cryocells moved to 100T. Under Sykko’s leadership, Xset accomplished comparatively higher places last year. However, with his entry into Sentinels, they barely managed to get anything done.

According to VLR, out of the 7 matches they have played with Sykko, they have won only 2. Out of these two, one was for the Ludwig X Tarik Invitational tournament, in which they faced TSM, a Tier 2 team. Their other win was 100T at the beginning of the tournament, which they scraped together with heroics. Sentinels in their current state possess great individual prowess but lack team coordination. This was the same problem shown by them last year which caused them to lose a lot of close matches which they could have won.

However, with the addition of Kaplan, let us see what they can do since they desperately need a change of strategy. It will be nice to see what strategies Kaplan can come up with. We will find out what this new Sentinels squad can do under his leadership. Their next match is against LOUD which will be their hardest challenge yet but will be a perfect measuring stick for Kaplan’s capability.

Do you think this coaching change is enough? Do they need to bring in Marved as a sub to have some additional firepower? Let us know in the comments! For more Valorant news, click here!
