Sergio Perez confirms 2019 deal is done and an announcement is just round the corner.

Sergio Perez’s F1 future has been one of high speculation, especially after the role he played in forcing Force India into administration.

However, later when it was confirmed that Perez actually took this step in order to save the team and the job of everyone involved, he was seen as a messiah who helped Force India get back to its feat.

Ever since, he has been touted with at least another year at the team, with a contract renewal just round the corner.

Sergio Perez has now confirmed that he is aware about his future but he can’t really communicate that now. He has assured the media that an announcement is just round the corner.

“For me, I already know what I will be doing next year, but I cannot communicate it yet,” Perez said as quoted by Crash.net

“It’s signed, I cannot communicate it.” he added.

He was then quizzed if the announcement would be made before Monza.

“Who knows, probably. I don’t think it’ll be long from now. We are not in a hurry.” Perez replied.

While Force India seems like the most likely destination for Perez, the rumour mill suggests that Perez has already signed a deal with Haas, a move that could send a shock wave across the F1 fraternity.

With a decision already made, Perez would be at peace with his future, unlike his teammate Esteban Ocon, who looks to be out of a seat for 2019, following Lawrence Stroll’s purchase of Force India.

Lance Stroll would be taking his ‘rightful’ seat at Force India next season and Perez’s decision would trigger a lot of movements in the driver market. If he makes that shock move to Haas, a Force India seat might be available for Robert Kubica, who Stroll is a huge fan of.

Let’s see what the future holds for Perez and co.
