Smriti Mandhana ran the show in the Woman’s IPL 1st game between the Trailblazers and the Supernovas. The Trailblazers captain got her team off to a slow start in the game tonight, struggling for timing in the first half of her innings. However, she stuck around and did not throw her wicket away, getting better with her timing all the time.
The Jaipur wicket has been a little sticky all through the IPL season and did something similar today too. Mandhana had understood that she needed to spend some time in the middle to get accustomed to the pace of the wicket. And she did so brilliantly, attacking the spinners in the middle phase and upping the ante for the Trailblazers.

Smriti Mandhana hit some brilliant strokes over extra cover to get her strike rate going and helping Trailblazers get 140 runs on the board, despite a slow start in the initial 10 overs. Mandhana’s power hitting meant that she got to 90 off 67 balls, delighting that Jaipur crowd to some typical Mandhana hitting.
