In a recent interview to cricbuzz, Dada shared his thoughts about various things related to cricket. Among them were the fitness levels of the contemporary players. Dada backed the Indian team management on the Yo-Yo Test and said, “That’s a very good landmark. However, it’s not the only landmark for performance but it is important to pass it. It makes you a fitter side. It makes you a side which is mentally stronger.

“You have certain ability but if you are fit then you can enhance it. That’s why we emphasize on Yo-Yo test. If anyone thinks that this is a one-off thing, he is sadly mistaken. He can take a walk,” Shastri had recently said.”

The Indian team management led by Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli had recently made the Yo-Yo test compulsory for the players.

Following a huge uproar on the test, a BCCI office bearer said “The idea of Yo-Yo tests is not an overnight thing. It’s been designed keeping all relevant officials in the loop. It’s not a one-off either. If there are ideas from former cricketers to improve upon it, then fine,” BCCI office –bearer had said.”

Many are demanding to give a second chance to players who failed in the Yo-Yo test to prove their worth.

I, a failed cricketer say: write picturesque, write insightful; otherwise don’t write. My writings are a source of self pleasure. Enjoy a fiercely fought test session much more than a slam bang T20. I write anything, as per whim- news piece, feature, opinion, editorial, preview, analysis etc. Hope to write a book one day!
