It’s elimination time in the IPL, with DC and SRH going at it in Vizag to have a chance to face CSK at the same venue and get to the IPL final. For DC the nerves would be jangling, as the Delhi franchise hasn’t been in the playoffs since 2012.
But a young new core, with no real trauma of the past, have ensured that this new Delhi wave goes deep into the tournament. With the business end here, the team would now be hoping that they can deliver when it matters most.
SRH on the other hand have managed to just scrape through to the playoffs, becoming the first team in the history of the IPL to get through on just 12 points.
David Warner has already left for Australia and SRH will find it tough to cope without him, something that has been quite visible in the last few games.
Manish Pandey has stepped up in his absence but he needs more support from Guptill and Williamson.

Wicketkeeper for DC vs SRH Dream 11
Between Rishabh Pant and Saha, I would bring in Rishabh Pant every day of the week. The DC keeper has been batting at number 4 ever since DC decided to not use Colin Munro at number 3. While Saha opens the batting, on current form and basic skill level, Pant is a better bet.
Bowlers for DC vs SRH Dream 11
The Vizag track is known to be a notorious one, with history suggesting that it could be on the slower side. The T20 average score on the Vizag ground is about 140 odd, but there have been games when teams have scored in excess of 300 in ODIs.
With this being the first game at this venue, I am going to go in with a safe bet of good spinners and some top order batsmen. Rashid Khan and Amit Mishra are the two frontline spinners for both teams and could cause some real menace if the ball starts to grip and turn on that Vizag. Both Mishra and Rashid have been in some good form coming into this game and possess all the skills to take full advantage of any assistance on offer.
For the third bowling pick, I go in with Khaleel Ahmed, who after being drafted into that SRH XI has picked up numerous 3 wicket hauls. He has 17 wickets in 8 games this season, thanks to that wonderful off cutter that leaves the right handed batsman. On a surface that could help the ball grip a little, he could turn out to be even more lethal. Get him in for sure.
All-Rounders for DC vs SRH Dream 11
I get in just one all-rounder for this game and that too a spin bowling one, largely because of how the pitch in Vizag behaves. And the best spin bowling all rounder for Wednesday’s Eliminator is Axar Patel. He has silently amassed 205.5 Dream 11 points this season, the most amongst all the all-rounders on display for this game. With SRH having 7 right handers in the top 7, Axar’s left arm spin could come in very handy.
Batsmen for DC vs SRH Dream 11
Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer have been in brilliant form for DC this IPL, making some important runs at the top of the order, especially during the second phase of the league stage. On current form and the fact that they would be present to take advantage of that hard new ball; I get both Dhawan and Iyer into my Dream11 team.
Manish Pandey has been in some brilliant touch ever since David Warner went back to Australia. For the SRH Batting unit, he has been shouldering a lot of responsibility and is doing so in style. Again, on current form, you just have to get him in.
For the final batting pick, I am a little torn with my team combination, with respect to the cost constraints and hence have two options for you to work with. 17.5 in the bag with 2 players to get, I advise you to either go in with Williamson(10cr) and B Ayappa(7.5 cr dummy player); or you could go in with Vijay Shankar(8.5 cr) and Martin Guptill(9cr).
Guptill and Shankar seems to be the safer choice, but if you feel that on a sluggish surface, Williamson could really get going agains the spinners; get him in for sure. Personally, if the pitch report says flat track, I would get in Guptill and Shankar. If it seems like one that could assist the spinners, I would get in Williamson and a dummy player.
